Guidelines for Formation and Conduct of Local Chapters.
- At least five members in good standing of Institute are required to
form a chapter.
- The chair or president of the local chapter should not be a current
member of the Board of Directors of the Institute.
- Pursuant to our non-profit status, no partisan political endorsement
of any kind whatsoever may be made by the local chapter, nor may the
name of the Thomas Paine Institute or the local chapter be used for
taking sides in any partisan political issue whatsoever.
- Public statements or pronouncements concerning the life and works of
Thomas Paine must conform to Institute policy positions or be approved
by the Board of Directors.
- At least two meetings per year must be held by the local chapter and
reported with minutes and financial statements to the Institute.
- Recognition of the local chapters will be given publicly by the
Institute.
- Chapter chairs should attend Institute Annual Meetings.
- Written requests for recognition by the Institute must be made by
the local chapter to the Board of Directors showing compliance with the
above.
